About Sean Oskerka
As your current 3rd Ward Alderman, I have spent last 4 years working closely with neighbors, friends, and other residents building a better Des Plaines.
We have completed many projects together and I look forward to completing many more over the next 4 years.

I have lived in Des Plaines for the last 14 years raising my kids in the community I have come to love.
As your current 3rd Ward Alderman, I serve as the Vice-Chair on the Community Services Committee, a Chair on the Public Safety Committee, and a Member on the Legal & Licensing Committee.
Volunteer Service
I have volunteered in the past as a coach for Des Plaines Youth Baseball and I was the Cubmaster for Pack 14 out of Forest Elementary for 9 years. During that time my Pack was able to partner with the principal at Forest Elementary to paint the map and other activities on the blacktop behind the school. I also orchestrated and ran many food drives during that time. Currently I am the Scoutmaster for Troop 6 out of 1st Congregational Church on Graceland Ave. I look forward to continuing to serve our community.
Professional Experience
For the last 22 years I have worked in Healthcare. During that time I earned an Associates degree from Oakton Community College, a BS in Fire Science Management from Southern Illinois University, and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. I also completed my Masters degree in Nursing Administration.
I spent the first 15 years serving as an Emergency Room Nurse and have spent the last 7 years in management for the department I work in.
Des Plaines
My goal as Alderman is to make Des Plaines a better place to live and hang out. I want to be able to interact with members of the community and make changes that will benefit everyone who lives here, as well as those passing through. I want to continue learning what kind of change people want to see and to hear about what everyone else loves about this city.
